Rosa Ellis Stanfield
Rosa Ellis Stanfield, 84, of Halifax, NC, passed away on March 27, 2019.
A native of Edgecombe County, she was born to the late Henry Battle and Adele Wooten Stanfield. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Pittman Stanfield, Sr., and her son, Don Stanfield.
She worked for J.P. Stevens for most of her career, and retired from the Bibb Company.
Rosa is survived by her sons, Edgar "Ed" Pittman Stanfield, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Halifax, NC, Gary Keith Stanfield and his fiancée, Dawn Marie Rossi; her daughter, Myra Jane Stanfield of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her brother, Phil Ellis and his wife, Connie, of Tarboro, NC; her two grandsons, Paul Stanfield and his wife, Cindy, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Joey Stanfield and his wife, Michelle, of Marion, NC; her three great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Leah Stanfield of New Bern, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Larry Mathews officiating, in the Chapel of Askew Funeral & Cremation Services.
Interment will follow in Macclesfield Cemetery in Macclesfield, NC.
